Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the cricket world's next big adventure!
A cricket pitch is being made in an old stone quarry - the natural stadium feeling provided by the surrounding clifffaces will add an extra dimension to the sport
Aimed primarily at juniors and women, St George's Oval will also sometimes invite men's teams for fun six-a-side cricket tournaments
As well as cricket, there will be golf and croquet and archery...
Plus rock festivals!
And summer camps will start soon...
Take a look around the website to find out more

What will happen at St George's Oval?
Cricket matches, coaching and tournaments
Nearby Szekesfehervar was the birthplace of cricket in Hungary, now St George's Oval will build on that by hosting matches, coaching camps and tournaments (domestic and international, with an emphasis on native players, juniors and women)
Sixes tournaments will be our speciality, with the added incentive of hitting the ball clean out of the ground!!!
English and Sport Camps
Camps for kids combining English lessons with native teachers, various sports (including cricket, croquet, archery and golf) and fun activities
Using the local castle as our base for sleeping, teaching and eating, we will provide a fantastic 3- or 5- or 7-day experience
Camps might begin in August 2012 - watch this space for more info...
Music festivals
Rock music in an old rock quarry - what could be better?
Stadium feeling, unique location, something new and special for all music-lovers
The first festival is set for Summer 2012 with local bands, but we will bring bands from Budapest and abroad for other festivals
Corporate training and team-building
The quarry lends itself to lots of unique activities and wet-weather programmes will be offered in the village (either in the castle or elsewhere)

Breaking news!
Plans set for Golf East Kft's upcoming (date not set yet) work at St George's Oval:
Level the field, maximizing the area
Strip the good humus from above, place it on the leveled playing area
Create natural drainage catchments adjacent to the quarry edge avoiding future erosion to the lower playing field
Then we plant the grass and while it is growing we sort out the sides and top, invite teams to come, organise more local coaching, order pavilions and netting, look forward to some great cricket and croquet and archery and golf and music festivals...
